Susanna Wythe’s parents were the mariner Humphrey Wythe, probably born in Harkstead, Suffolk, England about 1591 and Susan Pakeman baptized in Nacton, Suffolk on 8 Mar 1597.[1] Her parents were married on 8 Apr 1616 at Nacton, Suffolk, England and had 10 children. Two of these children died very young in Wolverstone, England where they were living in 1632.[2] A sister Margaret had died in 1626 age 10 and the first sister Emme was only about a year old when she died in 1625. Susanna migrated with her family and all living in Ipswich, Massachusetts by October 1635.[3][4]
Susanna’s father Humphrey Wythe died in Ipswich sometime before an inventory of his estate was ordered by the court at Ipswich, Massachusetts on 13 Mar 1638/39.[5] This estate, after debts were paid, amounted to about £140[5] and on 26 Mar 1639 the residue was ordered divided between his widow and five named minor children (Benjamin [the eldest son], Emme [a second Emme], Sarah, Anne and Joseph). It was further ordered by the court that Benjamin Wythe, then about 13 years old, serve as an apprentice to Abraham Perkins of Hampton for seven years.[5][3][6][4]
The three remaining (but unnamed) children at the time of their father’s death were all married daughters, assumed to have received their portions previously.[5] These included Susanna Wythe, her younger sister Abigail Wythe who had married Thomas Jones about 1638 and their older sister Mary Wythe who had married Abraham Perkins of Hampton before 1637.[3][6][4] By coincidence, Abraham’s brother Isaac Perkins was married (before 1636-1637) to another Susan/Susanna ____ and this likely contributed to the erroneous conclusion by many that Susanna Wythe had married Abraham’s brother Isaac Perkins.
Susanna Wythe was NOT the wife of PGM immigrant Isaac Perkins.
Susanna Wythe was born about 1620[7] and was possibly married before 1654 to a John Bursley but certainly before the birth of their only known child, Sarah Bursley in 1654. Susanna’s marriage to John Bursley may have been as early as 1639 but it is also possible that she had an earlier husband because there are no records found for John Bursley in the Hampton area before 1645. John Bursley was taxed in both Hampton and Exeter, New Hampshire between 1645-1649 and found in Maine after 1649. John Bursley was last mentioned in Eliot, Maine in 1653 and probably died there before 1655. In 1655, Susanna was living on “the NH side [of Eliot, ME]” when Richard Carle promised in court not to sleep in her house “unless another woman was abed with her”.
Susanna probably died sometime between 1655 and 1667. Susanna and John Bursley’s daughter Sarah Bursley, at age 13, was living with Susanna’s sister, Abigail (Wythe/Jones) Chadwell in 1667 (during the rape trial of John Simple of Charlestown [SJC Case #814]).

Humfry Wise of Ipswich, died intestate, and Samuel Greenfeild late of Salem married his widow and took into his possession the lands and goods of the said Humfry, without legal order. The Court held at Ipswich 26 : 1 : 1639, caused them to deliver an inventory of the estate which amounted to about 140£. Wise left a wife and five children, Beniamyn, Joseph, Em., Sarah and Ann, besides some that were married and had received their portions. It was further agreed that with the consent of Samuel Greenfield and Susan his wife that Benjamin Wise, eldest son of Humfry Wise, should be with Abraham Perkins of Hampton as an apprentice to him for seven years from Sept. 29 last past.

After the recently completed merge, way too much information about this profile has been changed. Her gender has even been changed to "male". How can this happen with a PPP?
Wise-150 became Susannah (Wythe) "Bursley" the daughter of Humphrey Wythe and Susan (Pakeman) Wythe. This Susannah Wythe [Wise-150] married a Bursley (not a Perkins) and had a child named Sarah Bursley.
There is a NEW profile [Unknown-432746] for Susanna (______) Perkins, the wife of Isaac Perkins II. Isaac Perkins married a Susanna ______, but we do not have a last name for his wife. [ See GDMNH 541-2; Susanna, List 393a, was not a Wyeth. ]
I would agree that the daughter of Humphrey Wythe and Susan (Pakeman) Wythe was Susannah Wythe. The problem is that she married a Bursley (not a Perkins). Isaac Perkins married a Susannah _____, but we do not have a last name for his wife. [ See GDMNH 541-2; Susanna, List 393a, was not a Wyeth. ]
I would suggest that Wise-150 should become Susannah (Wythe) Bursley and that a new profile for Susan (______) Perkins be created.
Can someone revert to the original profile?

Please PP this profile. She should be Susanna Wythe which matches the majority of the records in England.
