Samuel Henry Campbell was born Oct. 27, 1951 at Welch Emergency Hospital, Welch, McDowell County, W.VA. & Parents Robert & Geneva Campbell lived at Mary Town, McDowell County, W.VA. . Robert was a W.W.II Veteran & was a Brick Mason, before & after W.W.II & just before Sam was born got a Job in the Coal Mines . From RED JACKET COAL COMPANY, Robert got a better Job with ISLAND CREEK COAL COMPANY, & moved Family to Green Camp ( Company Houses Painted Green ) , Wyoming County, W.VA. & later Robert Bought a Home in Wyoming, Wyoming County, W.VA. , but seeing the Coal Company had only Coal Miner's Families living below the Train Tracks & Company Bosses Families living in better homes above the Rail Road Tracks . So Robert went to Charleston, W.VA. & took all the Testing to become a Coal Mining Boss ( so his Family not only lived in a better home, but he made more money to support them ). Robert was on the Emergency Rescue Team ( getting Coal Miners out after a Cave In or Explosion ) & as a Boss going to the Injured or Killed Coal Miners Homes & Taking Food, Toys for Children , from his own home for the Families & telling them that the United Mine Workers of America would take care of the Family ( I was with my Dad when he went to some of these & took the Children into another room with Toys I brought from my self & my Brothers & Sisters , so Dad could sit at the Kitchen Table with the Coal Miner's Wife & tell her what Would be done for her Family & Dad always had 2 Large Paper Bags of Food set on the Kitchen Table for the Family ( that Mom would Pack as my siblings & I gathered our latest & best Toys ). Dad got real sick in 1964 ( Black Lung , we found out later ) & was never able to Work again ( the Doctors told Dad & Mom , that Dad wouldn't live long , so Dad wanted to go back to Damascus, Washington County, VA. [ where Dad & Mom were both born & grew up ] , to live the rest of his life [ Dad was only 54 when he died & the Autopsy Report said Coal Dust Fell out of his Lungs ], ).

I Started the 7th. Grade in School at the same Rock School that Mom & Dad went to Damascus Elementary, Damascus, Washington County, VA. where I went for 1 year ( it was 1st. thru 12 when Mom & Dad went there ), but the New High School ( Holston High School [ named for the South Fork of Holston River below the School ], Damascus, Washington County, VA. Grades 8 thru 12 & 1st. Graduating Class was 1964-1965 School Year . I Graduated June 3, 1970 & Aug. 11, 1970 I got a Registered Letter telling me I had been Selected To Serve my Country during its Hour Of Need ( all 18 year old Men were Put in a Box by Their Date Of Birth [ 365 Days in a Year & the 1st. 60 Days Drawn Out of the Box would Get Their Draft Notice, I was Number 34 ] ), no Senior Trip for My High School Senior Class, but We Joked that The Government Sent Us on a Long Trip Around The World ……………

I got to see a lot Of The World & the Military Took Care Of Me ( Not Like I would Have Liked, But I made It Back Home Scarred , But Alive, Unlike A Lot Of Good Friends ).

Getting Back Stateside, I was Given a Chance To Get More Education & That was Good ………..

Leaving the Military ( I pulled 2 Branches ARMY & AIR FORCE ), 12 1/2 Years , I got a Job with Sullivan County, TN. Sheriff's Dept. ( Moving Up & Getting Notary Public Certification & Other Certificates [ Pulling More Money Pulling Shifts At Bristol Hospital Police so I could Pay My Home Off Early ), then Mom asked me to Come Back To VA. & I got On At Washington County, VA. Sheriff's Dept. ( worked up to Shift Commander , Honor Guard, Notary Public , Ect. ) Retired in 2007 ( I bought out My Military Years when it was Offered, & in VA. The VA. Retirement System [ V.R.S. ] is age 50 & years of Service , To Equal Your Retirement Age [ My Retirement Age was 67 ], so when I could I Retired ………..

I Helped Out With The Hospital Blood Bank ( Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Washington County, VA. ) to Keep Current in My Medical Education, until 2014 When a Company ( For Profit ) took over the Hospital Blood Bank, I Left .

I Stay In My Organizations I Think are Important & Honor My Ancestors, Such as ; Masonic / Shriners / American Legion / Fraternal Order Of Police / Sons Of The American Revolution / Sons Of Confederate Veterans / 40 & 8 ( Honor Degree of American Legion ) / Royal Arch ( Of Masons ) / Southeastern Cherokee Council / Clan Campbell Society ( North America ) / Scottish-American Military Society / Kentucky Colonel Society / 82nd. AIRBORNE Association / …………

Thank you for your Military service in both branches - Army and Air Force and for putting up with my questioning..

Do you have any military profiles that you have written for WikiTree for this Military and War Project. That is what we do is create military profiles, improve them with sources, maybe add categories, or stickers. etc.??

I Was Shocked When I Was Answering Questions For Sharing Family Information On Wiki Tree " Scottish Settlers To The American Colonies ( Before 1776 ) " , And Near The End Of Questions I Saw A Question That Said The Originator Of YOUR INFORMATION COULD BE " REMOVED " As MAMAGER OF THEIR INFORMATION " ??????

I Would Never Agree To This !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Cousin Sam! Welcome to WikiTree. We are 5th cousins, descended from Isom Sizemore & Patience Reece. Do you have photos and records in your possession of/regarding Isom and Patience or John "Gourd" Sizemore? I'd love love love to get more info on them. I have already documented all I have found on their profiles. We have one y-DNA test of a male descendant of John Gourd, but it would be great to have another. It looks like you wouldn't be a candidate, though, me either, of course. Well, nice to meet you cousin!

E. McCraw,

Send me your e-mail address & I will send you what I have on Isom & Patience Sizemore, & DR. Johnny Gourd Sizemore .

Cousin,

Would you be willing to upload copies of pertinent documents/photos to their respective profiles? That would be perfect! If we archive them on WikiTree, we know they will be backed up and preserved for future generations. Census images are easily accessed online, so I don't feel those would contribute as much, but wills and land records and personal letters and photos are a treasure!

Campbell-2991 and Campbell-38913 appear to represent the same person because: Hi Lora and Sam, you both have info on our Old George Campbell b. 1720. You can either put me on your "Trusted List" or make the merge yourselves. Thanks!!!

Thank You for all the Support in My Genealogy Research over the Years !!!!!!!!!!

Buck Harris & Shirley Craft Connected Our Campbell Lineage To John Campbell { 1641-1707 } , Shirley Craft Continues To Do Research To Get Our Campbell Lineage On Past John Campbell { 1641-1707 }, & Without Her Diligent Research, None Of Us Would Have Gotten This Far !!!!!!!!!
