We haven’t heard back from you concerning the Scottish Clans Transition. If you are still interested and we haven’t received a response from you by 24 March 2020, you will be welcome to rejoin by answering the current g2g thread for joining the Scotland Project.
Sincerely,
Amy Gilpin, Scotland Project co-Leader
My name is Sarah and I’m the Project Coordinator for the Scotland Project. As you may have heard, we have merged the Scottish Clans project into the Scotland Project. I am contacting you today to find out if you are interested in continuing with us under this new format. If you would like to go forward on the Scottish Clans Team, please reply and let me know which clans you have been working on or would like to work on. I look forward to hearing from you.
Best Regards, Sarah Mason, Scotland PC
I've added the project badge to your profile and your name to the members interest page.
From your G2G post I opted for this project. If you would also like to join the Scotland Project as well let me know.
How are you doing?
Don't forget to clean up profiles after a merge What happens after a merge? You forgot to clean up Glenn-475; I went ahead and cleaned it so you can see the different.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks, Sarah
Don't worry about being slow (like you said in your message to me). That's the best way to be, in my view: it means you are far less likely to make mistakes by rushing! As for cleaning up that profile: glad to be of help.

Check out Beyond the Basics of WikiTree for a guide on some of our more advanced features such as Projects, Categories, and Merging.
We're very active on our social sites and we have an excellent blog where you'll find our monthly newsletter as well as tips, interviews with our members and guest posts from others in the genealogy community.
As always, I'm here to help if you have any questions!

After the merge is completed you'll be redirect to the edit page for the profile. It's important to edit the biography and sources.
During a merge, the text from the merged-away profile is simply appended onto the end of the text of the merged-into profile. You will want to integrate it into a single biography and a single sources section.
Profiles become very garbled after multiple merges that have duplicate or even conflicting information. When you complete a merge, you should see a red box at the top of the page asking you to edit the merged profile. Hope this helps
I see you are working on merges, you may want to review Matching and Merging FAQ to understand your responsibilities in doing merges.
Remember, after the merge you will want to clean up the Contents Section text and make sure there are Sources to support the merge.
You will also want to review all other family members for potential duplicates and review any conflicts in parents. If you have any questions, just let me know. Thank you for your help in our global WikiTree project to create one World Tree linking as many ancestors as possible.

I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Let me know.
I can help you figure out if there's a project and introduce you to the project leaders.
