Need help with place name in Austria (Bohemia?)

Question

On this US World War I draft registration card, there is a place name (father's birth place) that looks like Jumbrek, Austria. The 1910 census record for Stark County, North Dakota indicates that this was in Bohemia. I can find no place called Jumbrek in Bohemia or Austria. Am I reading the name wrong?

John would not have been John. He was likely Jan/Janos

Rosa and Joseph's birthdates come from FS. The 1910 shows them both seven years old. I didn't see the 1900. FS link?

Javůrek  looks good, close at least. I can image the census taker, if not form the area, spelling things how they sounded. See George's supposition below.

I've struggled with what people, especially women in this community, go by. On gravestones I see Russian naming conventions. FS records often has the Americanization, the gravestone the Russian version. Ex: Frances Jedlicka Kudrno - gravestone: Frantiska Kudrnova. I used what was on the gravestone as this seems to follow WT guidelines about names - what THEY used, not the clerk in the courthouse.

For the guys, John: Janos, Jan; Joseph: Josef... etc. Thinking about this while searching for records makes my head spin.

I believe the immigration year of 1897 was misinterpreted by Wencel. He claims citizenship in 1900

He had to be in the USA at least 5 years to apply and process then took at least a year from application to oath

I would look for naturalization records circa 1897 plus/minus

FindAGrave memorial has Czech Republic for a birth place. Silly people. There was no Czech Republic then! FS has a lot of Jedlickas listed from the area (Bohemia/Austria). I thought I had a birth record for one of them, but parents weren’t right, though the date was very close.

Taurida District is right. I have several of these families immigrating from there to Dunn/Stark counties, ND.

There's a Jenbach in Tyrol( once Austria, now Italy), but the 1910 census says Bohemia. Hmm...

Helmut, would Grenberk have been in Galicia in 1910? The US census that year states that some of the family I am working on were born in Bohemia. Would this be comparable to Galicia. Sorry my historical geography is so poor.

Yes, Grunberk was in Galicia but Galicia was to the East of Slovakia and not bordering on Bohemia.

I did a little research in the gazetteer at Genteam. There is a village in Bohemia called Gumberg (or Komberk), in the parish of Mesto Touskov who’s records are in the Pilsen District Archive. I cannot say if this is the right place, but perhaps worth looking into.

There is also a Gumberk, but it is in the Crownland of Carniola (Krain) which is part of Slovenia, so is unlikely your village.

Phonetically, the name corresponds to Žamberk (JUM-berk) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%BDamberk

which is a town of 6000 inhabitants in northeastern Bohemia, The surname "Jedlička" is quite common in the region https://www.kdejsme.cz/prijmeni/Jedli%C4%8Dka/hustota/ so I would try that.

Also, his mother Anna Chastek (in Czech = Částek) was born in Čechohrad (https://cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C4%8Cechohrad) which was established by immigrants from northeastern Bohemia (according to wiki) - which also corresponds to the distribution of surnames "Částek" and "Pavliš" (her mother's surname):
