Biography Public View different from Edit Mode

Looking a Biography, it's all one paragraph, but in edit mode it's broken up in several paragraphs.  The author saved their work as it should be and the system didn't save as written.  Can someone please explain the issue here?

Paragraph in wikitext is done by two returns or one empty line. You don't need to use <br> tags.

I corrected the page so you can check the page in edit mode.

I just added line breaks at the end of each paragraph.  There must be 'hidden' tabs or line breaks in there.  If you look at it now, some of the 'paragraphs' are indented, which they shouldn't unless there are hidden characters because they are aligned on the left margin.

This is similar to the 'smart / curly' quotes when something is copied in from a Word document, or something similar.

This also happens sometimes with sources where there is a carriage return or an extra space and it makes the source not show up correctly.

In HTML, a Return is treated as a space, and a string of spaces reduces to a single space.  You have ro use <p> or <br /> to create a line break.

In Wikitext, a double Return creates a paragraph break.

What you had here was a Return, then some spaces, then another Return.  This looks the same as a double Return, but it doesn't work the same.  It just reduces to a space.  The blank line has to be empty.
