query about dna tests

Question

hello, a thought came to my mind about my dna.  If i was adopted by my grn/parents, then how does my dna work. Would it be my mother, or fathers, names and dates i have to give.  Mother is scottish, and i recently discovered father is dutch,  grn/parents scottish,, but one  grt/grn/dad is english,and his wife from ceylon,   A mixed lot indeed.
