How do I post a comment about surname DNA information?

I'd like to post a comment regarding a Y-DNA Surname Project I'm involved with.  I've identified 5-6 separate haplotypes for Petty surname lineages in the U.S., and related them to both their likely colonial American arrival locations, and their possible English origin locations.  What's the best way to get the word out about this - and encourage more Y-DNA testing?

If you click on the Petty surname (on your own profile or any other Petty's profile), then go to the page listing Pettys, I think you'd see it if there was a free-space page for Pettys.

Edit:  Sorry, I was a little off.  I did find one page, and you might want to check that out and contact the PM:  https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Petty_serch
Thank you Julie!
Is there a way to make this more obvious, or stand out a bit?
Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean.
Julie, Could you elaborate? To try this out, I clicked on the surname Hutchins on one of my profiles and found a list of 3600+.  Is there a way to find if there are any free space files?  What am I missing?
I'll try.  I chose the name Cecil, which is my mother's maiden name.  I clicked on it.  I imagine you could do it from anywhere, including from the ancestor display on my profile.

So the page is a listing of Cecils.  Across the top are some "quick links" including "genealogists" which will show you everyone following that tag.  Then on the right-hand side, first I see a collection of photos, then under that a box listing G2G discussions and free-space pages.

And now I see that one of my own FSPs isn't listed.  I guess I've learned why it is useful to put tags on FSPs.  I'll try that right now.
Update:  I added the tags.  Don't see it on the Cecil page.  Maybe it's one of those things that update overnight.
Wow!  You just opened a whole new world of resources for me.  Thank You so very much for taking the time for such a thorough response.
You're welcome!

Robert, the best way to use that yDNA test information on WikiTree is to invite the yDNA test takers to join WikiTree, and add their own yDNA test information to their profiles. Then either they or you can add profiles for their male line back to their earliest known ancestor. As you can see on your own profile, and on your male Petty ancestors' profiles, WikiTree automatically displays the yDNA test information on the profiles. Anyone interested, seeing that yDNA test information on their ancestors' profiles, is made aware of those tests.

Hey Robert - Kay has the best answer. We also have the ability to work DNA Group Projects here on WikiTree. Mention to your project Admin that they could have the ability to work with WikiTree using our Group Projects pages - and it's Free. https://www.wikitree.com/index.php?title=Space:DNA_Group_Projects&public=1

If a Petty adds his Y-DNA to mitoYDNA.org then he can add his mitoYDNA ID to his DNA Tests page at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:DNATests

mitoYDNA is free allows the following benefits:

View the Y haplotype (1 min 5 sec video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6GyUG5HIME  ) and compare two or more Y haplotypes (50 sec video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WB_Qn5sOmxY ) in order to confirm that they have sufficiently matching Y-STR haplotypes.  MitoYDNA also has tools to:

Calculate the modal haplotype (1 min 22 sec video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7WO66WQr5Q )

Create graphics to show Y haplotype relationships (2 min 57 sec video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O58iqiwq1DM )

and calculate Time to the Most Recent Common Ancestor (3 min 37 sec https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACC-h0OwVLE ).

More information on mitoYDNA is at

I welcome any questions.  Thank you and most sincerely,
