Can we add biological AND adoptive parents?

Is there any way to put in an alternate relative based on DNA evidence? My father was always told he was Greek and that his father was Anthony Theodore Xanthis (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Xanthis-4) but my DNA testing  & my half brother's son who carries the same Greek name Xanthis, shows no Greek heritage, with no Greek cousins or distant cousins NOT ONE. We have narrowed down our possible grandfather vis new found a first cousins whose grandfather is William "Bill" Matons (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Matons-2).    He  may have had a number of illegitimate children,  several people who were adopted are related to this same man via DNA are trying to find who their ancestors are . I put the DNA related Matons in as unrelated and left in the Xanthis line. Is there any way to put in adopted parents AND biological parents?

Hi Sylvia,

If you edit your post and add the adoption_angels tag, those folks may be able to help you with trying to identify/confirm your father's parentage.

A profile for an individual can currently only have one set of parents at WikiTree. Generally for deceased individuals, the biological parents should be connected (if known) to the individual to facilitate the DNA connections/features here. You can also use the Adopted Child Template in the Biography section of the profile to link to the adoptive parents.

If the biological parents are not known, you can connect the adoptive parents and mark them as non-biological, so that any DNA connection information is not propagated across the adopted relationships.

You can also use a Research Notes section in the profile to discuss the information that you have found to date and any conflicting info.

So far, this isn't possible as far as I'm aware. But it has crossed my mind a couple of times that WikiTree should add this feature if possible. It would make things much easier and more manageable.

Thanks for your rapid reply! Sylvia
Do make sure you put a link to both in the Biography though, then you can certainly connect quickly to either of them. Use the [[SURNAME-ID|Full Name]].

Family Search allows this functionality.  I had mistakenly thought I could track both my father's biological parents and his adoptive ones here, but that seems to be an either/or setup now.

This is interesting.

Can you please provide a link to an example?
Since Josh didn't post an example, here is a profile with two sets of parents: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/L56Y-48J

It lets you mark the relationship as adoptive/step/biological.

In my experience though, usually multiple sets of parents just means there are duplicates to merge or people can't decide which parents are correct.
I responded to Jillaine privately.  Since my father is still alive, there's no point sharing to everyone else, who won't be able to see it, but I did follow the instructions to update his biography.  That doesn't help tracking any genealogical relationships with his adopted family.
