I am researching the Perrine family, and relying on Ancestry to post my findings.  Unfortunately, Ancestry just stopped responding or I would have many names to query.  Perhaps it will be functional tomorrow.  The big issue is tracking the names from generation to generation.  Sometimes the ancestor goes by "van" name of their town and sometimes a child is given the first rather than the second name of the father.  So Pieter Janzsen or Pieter van Huysen.  Any trick to this?

Welcome to Wikitree, John!

I don't have any tips that address your question. There's lots of places that have tricky naming conventions and that's challenging, for sure!

If you decide to add your family branches here, you can get the support and advice from others with experience in Dutch genealogy.

Good luck.
