Help! I created a false twin profile.

Hello WikiTree folks!

I created a profile for what I thought was a twin of my grandaunt Edna May Forbes. Turns out it was just her name at birth (Dorothy Rose Forbes) and was changed to Edna May. Edna's younger sisters Dorothy Catherine and Althea Rose were given parts of her birth name Dorothy Rose.

So I have to

delete the Dorothy Rose Forbes profile I made in error.

Can it be done or should I use it to create my next profile and change all the details?

Sincerely,

Lisa . . . Dwyer-101

As long as the surnames is Forbes, you could re-use the profile for one of the sisters, or another Forbes. Just change the rest of the details.
That is what I thought to do. I totally blanked on merging.

Merging is the way to go. Check out this help page for more information:

Hope that helps.

Hi, Lisa. The merge has already been set for those duplicates. Duplicates should be merged. I am going to remove the merge proposal since they are now two different people. Please be careful in the future. This link will explain more about Recycling WikiTree IDs. I hope that the information is helpful.
