Can a Pre-1500 Certified member merge Hamilton-23545 into Hamilton-4469?

These 2 are ready to be merged. Bios are similar, but Sources will need to be combined. I'm not pre-1500 certified. This has passed the 30-day waiting period, so would appreciate any help in getting the 2 files merged. Thank you.

This family is on the Scotland Project's to-do list to straighten out, but that is a very long list. Both profiles need more work before they are merged. Hamilton-23545, for example, lists his first wife as Janet Hamilton, daughter of Robert Hamilton. This is supported by four citations: the first being a privately printed family genealogy by John Birnie which gives no sources for anything. The other three citations (one from Sir James Dunbar Paul and two from John Anderson) both actually contradict this claim, asserting that his first wife was Elizabeth Hamilton, daughter of Patrick Hamilton. This needs more research and there is a good possibility some of these relationships need to be changed. When a merge is done, considerable time may need to be spent to correct errors in this line. It is possible that the member who noted on Hamilton-4469 that ".....On the matter of his marriages and descendants, the secondary sources are in irreconcilable conflict. There is confusion with his son John, and his grandson John, if he had one, and his nephew John, and maybe every other John Hamilton in Scotland" may have had a good point. It also may well be that we should go ahead with the merge and then worry about trying to integrate the two profiles.

As these 2 list the same parents and siblings, I believe they should be merged if for no other reason but to get rid of confusion. Otherwise, one of them should be disassociated from the parents and siblings and allowed to remain until it is know who this particular Hamilton was.
These profiles need to be merged. The bios both state they are the natural son of. Both state they are "of Broomhill." Merging them would give John Hamilton, Lord of Broomhill a completed look. They are not brothers. No source states, or voices, the possibility of 2 brothers, both named John that were the natural sons of James Hamilton and Janet Calderwood.

I'm not pre-1500 certified, or I would have been more than happy to get this accomplished.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Just an FYI   Pre-1500 merges work just like all other merges.   The profile managers or those on the trusted lists will be the ones to complete the merges.   Or, after 30 days, they will become default approved and anyone with a Pre-1500 badge can complete the merge.   Right now, we need the profile managers to approve the merge.

This has already passed the 30 days. That is why I have requested assistance in getting the 2 files merged. Thank you.
