Hello WikiTreers!

Please join us for the current WikiTree Challenge. For each challenge, we partner with another group in the worldwide genealogy community. Together we research seven degrees of connections for seven starting people chosen by our partner.

This week, our partner was the Society of One-Place Studies (OPS). They support and promote studies and their owners, and educate the public about the benefits of running One-Place Studies.

Our week began Thursday, February 2, at noon EST (5pm UTC) and ended February 9, at noon EST. You didn't need any particular skills to participate, everyone was welcome to join us. If you did happen to have any experience with records for Canada, England, or the United States, then your experience was especially valuable for this one.

We again showed our friends what genealogy collaboration can accomplish!

Check out the Resource Space page for more details and resources. You can see who is participating so far on the tracking sheet. Watch for the Highlights post to see what all we discovered!

closed with the note: Thank you for participating! See you for the next challenge.

I’ll see what I can do. I’m not that good with records from Canada, England, or Scotland, but I wasn’t familiar with Australian records for the last challenge, but ended up (without registering) with 40+ edits on the Adelaide Ironside line. So maybe I can help on this one.

Welcome Richard! Thanks for working on those Australian profiles. I had a lot of fun with that challenge. All experience is welcome, and there is always plenty to do!

My Great Grandmother, “Mary Elizabeth (Keith) Williams. I have traced our ancestors for every generation back to Donotter Castle in Scotland including many notables. My problem is; all this info is on FamilySearch.org, and I can’t seem to grasp how to do gedcom files to get them to Wikitree. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mel Williams

I'll see what I can contribute. I have an OPS in Mississippi. Is this a profile creation challenge within different OPS's?

Thanks.
by Gina Jarvi G2G6 Pilot (146k points)

Welcome Gina! We are working on profiles picked by members of the One Place Study (OPS) society. A few have their own related OPS. I would love to have yours listed on the resource page as an example to others! Most of the chat during the week will be on Discord.

Thank you. I would love to share it. It is the Mound Bayou Settlement: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Mound_Bayou%2C_Mississippi_One_Place_Study

I'm in please. The Yorkshire one was only 5 miles (albeit that was the other side of the River Humber) from where I grew up, so I'd like to work on that one.
