The Holocaust Project is seeking new members wanting to help us with our goals!

Some of our goals are to add, connect, and honor victims and survivors.

If you are a WikiTree member, have signed the Honor Code, and would like to join us, please:

Click "Answer" below and let us know what regions and topics you are most interested in (i.e., the Netherlands, or Kindertransport, etc) And do let us know if you read or speak languages other than English.

Do you want to help, but you can't commit to regular activity? Instead of joining, you can follow the holocaust tag and watch for posts from us asking for help on specific tasks and projects.

I have a gedom with about 3000 - 4000 people entered by a friend of ours, now deceased. His name was Polak and a lot of his relatives were murdered in Sobibor. He spent a lot of time doing the research. I have decided to move my database to wikitree, and would love to find someone (or more) to take over his part of the gedcom and photos. (We were only slightly related via a step-parent.)

Hello, I just got your request for the Holocaust Project. My husband doesn't have any close family, but I have found a family of distant cousins that were all murdered at Auschwitz. I don't think there are any direct survivors.

Anywho, I have photos of them, if you would like to a copy of them.

Hello, I would like to join the Holocaust project. I will work on adding victims who were born or resided in the Netherlands. I can read Dutch reasonably well, so I'm happy to help anyone working in the area. Thanks, Jeff

Wonderful. Don't tell everyone your languages, you will get more translation requests than you can handle! Seriously, thanks so much for joining up. You have the badge and I sent you a message.

Thanks a lot for your friendly advice smiley and the badge. In the moment I am learning Hebrew/Yiddish letters, which is helpful to transliterate Yad Vashem Pages of Testimony. If you aren't too busy, please see: [[Pszenny-3]]. Ajzik is the grandfather of my schoolmate. I am happy to be able to be part of these ambitious projects (Auschwitz 2025, too.) Best wishes, Eva [[Gawlik-25]]

Great. I can easily read the block letters but am still learning the script. It's not that hard, I just need to sit and focus for a while! That's definitely a great skill to have because Yad Vashem often has "uncle" instead of "nephew", etc, so it's great to see the original.
I fully agree!
