Another Weekend Chat has arrived, my fellow WikiChatterboxes! And greetings from a wet and chilly Cathey’s Creek. The storm that blasted nearly the entire east coast of the US poured several inches of rain upon us, so much so that, though we had no intention of going out, it flooded the entrance of our neighborhood. And, not only ours but the next one, too, so our possible escape route was closed. The front passed, but the expected drop in temps didn’t occur until a couple of days later. There’s a 100% chance of rain today also.
On the Home Front: Would you believe that I am typing this with both hands? Yep, with the management of my pain, I have found that I can use my right on the keyboard. I just have to take breaks to give my shoulder a rest. My sleep is also better, so I am not as run down during the day.
I met with the head therapist at my group last Monday and was encouraged. He stated that the operation, to him, appeared very successful and my recovery should be a smooth one.
I finished up the entire set, some 20+ books, of the Vince Flynn / Kyle Mills series. Now, I have two loaners from a therapist who knows how much I love to read. I’ve also pulled some books from my library, some that have sat there for years unread.
On the Genealogy Front: Last month’s surname tally consisted entirely of the work I did for a friend. I only did his direct line. Even so, some of the results were surprising.
Layman was 3rd with seven profiles edited
Houk was 1st with only four profiles;
Romines was 2nd with four;
Loveday was 1st with four; and
Shults was 1st with only three.
Others were far further down with some not even placing in the Top Ten. I did get over 1000 contributions in December, but I have serious doubts that I will make it this month.
I have not greeted since New Year’s Day, and so many of my colleagues in that project have covered my shifts for me. So typically selfless of them to help when I needed them. I believe I will be able to get started back up this coming Sunday.
My ancestor, Featherstone Wells, was born on this date in 1771. I think I mentioned not long ago about his elusive mother. I’m pretty sure that the oral history is correct, but without a document of some kind, I cannot create her profile.

So, with not much else going on here, I will close, short and sweet. I hope all of you are well, even flourishing, here at the beginning of a new year. Be blessed, every one of you!
Enjoy the Chat!
