Answers vs Comments

Question

Is there any way to change things so that an up vote could be left for a comment as well as an answer? I've seen MANY comments that I wanted to leave a vote for, but there's no way to do it.

I agree with Keith.  The reason some people answer as a comment however is because they do not want to rack up a lot of G2G points and an answer counts as more points and then an up vote also adds points to the person who added the answer.

Or it could be they just want to comment on a question or comment, but don't have an answer per se to the original question.

Apparently some people don't read "questions" that have already been "answered".  Since I realised that, I try never to give the first answer.
