The beginning, and the end.
Where did you come from?
Where did you go?
How could you leave your established families, your own children, and run off with another lady and STEAL MONEY TOO!?!?!? Actually, I think it was specifically stated as being "Embezzlement". (Great Uncle)
Why did you leave your daughter, who was about four when her mother, your wife, died, and join the Confederate Army only so she would be raised by her grandmother because you died during the war??!?! What, exactly, where you thinking? (GGGGrandfather)
Oh, to my ggggggrandmother, who had 18 children, I think it was 18, and most of her children had no less than 6 children each; back in the day of wood stoves, doing laundry in a washbin by hand, HOW THE HECK DID YOU SURVIVE A CHRISTMAS DINNER WITH ALL OF THEM??? In one day, how long did it take you to cook? I hope they all helped, brought dishes with them, cuz just the thought makes me cringe. So glad I was born in the 20th century, not the 17th.
Not a question, so much, as a statement. I would have liked to have known you, found out what life was like for you. Some of your stories make me wanna cry, others make me chuckle. Nice to know that even now, those particular emotions and things haven't changed in this world. It makes it seem like we have that much more in common.
