Add Probable Father As Connected or Unconnected?

i am working on connecting Robert Stephens Beall to a father, who I believe is Samuel Page Beall.  I don't have an absolute connection yet, but all the circumstantial evidence leads there. Which is the best process:

  • Enter Samuel as Robert's father, indicating the uncertainty until I can prove the connection; or
  • Enter Samuel without the connection to Robert and just include a reference in both profiles indicating the probable connection?

My vote would be to add the known evidence and related citations in the biography and indicate the relationship as uncertain.

I generally agree with Peter unless you make a really strong case with good sources in which case you could place him in the father field with uncertain.

But start out by linking a g2g to his profile and use the g2g to make your case and let us see the evidence. I look forward to it as I LOVE evidence analysis.
I see you've got the argument in the profile itself. That also works. Have you found him in the 1900 census? He should be with his parents yes?
