What do you think of these project templates?

I've started creating templates to put on profiles managed by the projects. The idea is to have something more specific than the historically significant ancestor badge that appears on any locked profile. I wanted something that would automatically put the profile in the correct category, show some kind of relevant image, and link to the project (hopefully bringing in new members).

Here's what I've got so far:

The European Aristocrat one is the most complicated, since the category and the image depend on the house. I created Space:European Aristocrats Project to store the images for the different houses.

Let me know what you think so far, and what improvements you think could be made! I'll try to get something put together for the rest of the projects soon!

Thank you that will help seperate those HSA who have are just part of the great migration from those who had a greater roll in our history.

They are nice. Great job. One quick question though. For instance with the presidents badge I know that the wives of the presidents were included as part of the project how would the new badge work for that? Would it just be a different text label?

Good point, Brian. The template I made really only works for the presidents themselves, not spouses, children, parents, etc. The badge could be made more general, or another badge could be made for other people related to the US Presidents project.

The same question exists for the Mayflower project, since the template I made is for Mayflower passengers, not their relatives.
The templates are a great thing for WikiTree . Thanks for all your work  .
Nice work.  Will you be able to do a global search and replace (using the category) or will we need to go back and add these individually? AND will placement of these also "lock" the profile from being merged away?

on the Historically Significant Ancstor tag I think we still have challenges to solve. It's still too general a term. What's significant to one reader isn't to another. (For example I think PGMs are HS; Alan doesn't.)  I could actually see the templates you've created replacing that tag.  They more clearly and contextuall articulate "significance".
For presidential spouses you could have a US First Lady tag that links to the president project, which will work until we have a female president.
The templates will have to be added individually, and they will not lock the profile. This is just something to put in the bios to point out their significance and point people to the related project. As for the first ladies, I hesitate to put anything in place that will have to be changed when a woman gets elected (I keep meaning to change that wives of US presidents category). Maybe something more general for close family members of presidents?
"First Families"?

I'll leave that to those who are working in that space.

I think we have to separate Locking a profile from "Historically Significant".

We need to be able to lock profiles whether or not the people are considered historically significant.

Very nice! They make the reason for the "HSA" more clear.

Just a quick update on these, for anyone who wanted to look at improving the look of these templates. I've moved the formatting code out of the individual templates into Template:HSA. That way, we can change the HTML for all of them at once and make sure they remain consistent.

Quick Question:

Is it OK to start using these Project Template Tags?

I started using them on some of the Mayflower Passengers whitout thinking because they seem like a good idea.

Yes, you can definitely start using them! :) The way templates work, if changes are made to the template, it'll automatically be updated on all the profiles using that template. So you don't have to wait for them to be "finished" to start using them.
