Who are Arthur Dickson's parents?

I'm trying to determine who the parents of Arthur Dickson are. I have his marriage record, which ostensibly lists both of his parents, but I can't entirely make out what it says. Image below:

I've also identified several potential birth records, but I'm not certain on any of them. See below.

First: https://www.wikitree.com/photo/jpg/Dickson-2933-1 to an Arthur Dickson and Margaret/Mary Burness (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XYTJ-HGQ)

Second: https://www.wikitree.com/photo/jpg/Dickson-2933-2 Conrad Arthur Dickson, to a Thomas Dickson (mother listed but unintelligible).

Hopefully someone can help me with this. Your assistance is greatly appreciated!

The marriage certificate image is clear to me that the father of Authur Dickson who married Georgina Cairns in Lanark 1898 is not named and only his mother Mary Dickson is noted as a parent.    Although the document names her former spouse, I believe that has nothing to do with Arthur.   The thing to do next John is to find his death certificate in scotlandspeople as you have done with his marriage.

Mary Dickson is deceased before 1898 and again, you may find her death in Scotland as maiden names are carried lifetime and more helpful if you were to able to decipher the surname for Mary's marriage to Paul ?

The Christian name Paul is really uncommon in Scotland in the day.

Arthur was a coal miner and his mark was witnessed by the minister officiating the ceremony.  Georgina was a Handloom Weaver and a spinster.    With his birth date of approx 1876, you may be able to find a birth record but the death record is very important for you to find as it will name a father, reputed father or no father at all.    Their occupations help to find them in the areas such as Lanark and Ayrshire where occupations such coal mining and textile trades was very high.

Wishing you well in your search

Thank you so much. I've done some preliminary searching for a "Paul" and that agrees with your statement about the name being uncommon in Scotland; there's basically nothing. I hadn't thought of the (deceased) referring directly to Mary, but that makes sense.

Hi John,  this is possibly a lead for you on the 1891 census where Mary Dickson is living in Lanark with her son Arthur aged 15 yrs, Mary is aged 40 yrs, head of household.

On the 1881 census, the only Arthur noted on the census records with grandmother "Mrs" Dickson and other grandchildren.  Arthur  5 born Lanark, Flora Dickson  10 b. Lanark and Catherine 2 b Lanark

Mrs Dickson is born 1817 Tobermory, Argyllshire. (possible mother of Mary?) is research the other children living in the household with their grandmother on the 1881.

Paul, the surname may be Clancy

Thank you again; I've found both those records. I agree on Clancy vs. Glancy as well - that seems to match the handwriting (other known C's also have that strange curl). I'll look into the other grandchildren.

EDIT: I've found birth records for two of the other grandchildren (Flora and Catherine). Flora is the daughter of Thomas Dickson and Elizabeth. Catherine is the daughter of just "Mary", and is listed as illegitimate. Perhaps Arthur's situation is similar? Although I am still unable to find a birth record for him.

I think it says "Mary Dickson, originally married to Paul Glancy, Labourer (Deceased)"
