No spouse on edit page

Question

Can we possibly include a "no spouse" check box on the edit page as well as the spouse page? It would save an edit on those profiles for individuals who never married or died young? We could check no children and no spouse and be finished.

There is a NO SPOUSE checkbox. You need to look for it at EDIT FAMILY go to>> Spouses:   edit/remove a spouse.

There are also checkboxes for NO SIBLINGS as well as NO CHILDREN.

Does that answer your question or do you mean another section of the EDIT page ?

I understand what Robert is asking. The "no spouse" checkbox currently only appears on the edit-marriage page, not on the person's edit page. In this way it's different from the "no children" and "no siblings" checkboxes which do appear on the edit page.

Unfortunately, it's a little tricky to implement.

I would like to see a "no spouse" box on the family edit page along with the no children, no more sibling boxes. If the individual never married, the no spouse and no children boxes could be checked as well as the no more siblings box. Three items in one edit.

Just out of curiosity what does selecting any of this achieve? As far as I know, it doesn't prevent someone from adding another spouse, sibling or child, right?

Jillaine, it's mainly just about invitations to add the relatives. If you select "no children" the profile won't ask "children?".

It also cleans up the look of the profile overall.

Just as when you select "No middle Name" it removes the unknown field from the profile.

Indeed, we need to be able to have boxes to click when we are creating a profile, we can click certainty level on dates but not places, and a whole bunch of other options.  Would save having to go back to re-edit the profile once created.

Another option that would be great to have:

 

No Middle Name when creating a profile, as well as the Confidence levels of parents at this point.  I ALWAYS forget to go back and do that!
