I have a direct ancestor, Thomas C. Jackson, b. in Georgia ABT 1826. I have Wakulla Co. FL census with that information. He married Nancy J Roddenberry, b. abt 1824 in Georgia d. bef 1860 probably in FL. Thomas then married Rebecca McGee and moved to Shelby Co., Texas. Thomas died in Shelby Co., Texas in 1881. Undocumented parents of Thomas C Jackson are a William Jackson and Susan Unknown who might be from Virginia. Any information from others who have insights or documents for these family members appreciated.

In the 1850 census, Thomas is living next door to 64 year old Susan Jackson in the household of E.W. , Benjamin and Lucy Jackson.

From land records, this appears to be two households on the same farm

Thanks so much Eddie! That census is the source of my family's thought that this is likely Thomas' mother. What is the source of the land record that you are viewing? I have not seen that. Do you have any suggestion to search for Georgia birth record for Thomas Jackson? Census or any other record in Georgia for Susan Jackson and her husband?

Thanks so much! Janet Jackson Daghri

You have to trawl through a bunch of stuff

Chances are you won't find a birth record.  They were not required back then.

    Thanks so much!!!
Eddie, I looked at the link you shared for the land record for Thomas Jackson. Can you give me more information on where to look on this page for the land record that shows more than one home on the land of Thomas Jackson? I would appreciate it so much!

    Thanks!!! Janet Jackson Daghri
I didn't keep anything. But you might look in Ancestry, choose "all records" arrow down to "wills, probate etc"  fill out the form, use a plus ten year range. Do one name at a time and download info and then compare
    Thanks!
I ought to tell you that when I created Reuben James and went looking for his kinfolk, I went through 261 land records. Had to read the entire records because the witnesses to the land transfers were usually relatives mentioned in the middle of antique scribbling LOL
For the love of the search of family, right? I think I'm looking through just as many land records. So many Jacksons in Georgia! Thanks so much for leading me down the right trail. - Janet
