Up for a challenge? Eliphalet Reed parents?

Question

This one has stumped me for awhile. I'd love to know who Eliphalet Reed's parents were. His wife also has me at a brick wall. Anyone who just loves genealogy challenges want to take a hammer to this one?

It was Massachusetts when he was born but is currently Maine.

Also, just to note, Dixmont was located in Hancock County in 1805. Penobscot didn't exist until 1816.

This could be his father with the same unusual first name.  Note the dates.  No concrete sources.

Eliphalet Reed born 1770 Bristol, Lincoln, Maine died 1820 same place.

Spouse Jane Plummer.
