William Ap Thomas (1587-1679) Father Blood Line

Question

I have William Ap Thomas  1587-1678 in Wales to Virginia in 1635

married a ? Massie (Massey) (1590-1666) in 1612

i found a reference to a Thomas ap PHilip (Thomas) (poss 1556-1586) and mother

Margaret Ap Traheme (1558-1578)

but I found his father is supposidly Thomas ap Dafydd

but dates don't add up can someone. Help me straighten this out
