I, too, am a descendant of Capt. Thomas Martin of Caroline Cty, VA. I wonder if you wouldn't mind chatting and trading info. I have another set of Martins I am also related to who appear about 50 years later in Abbeville, South Carolina, having fought in the Revolutionary War and a partriot, My Absalom Decatur Martin married and took his large family to Hall, Forsyth, and Gwinnett Counties, Georgia to start a new life. I wonder if there is a connection, more especially since as I research my Martin DNA matches, a few, who have different trees than my own, also seem to have roots in Virginia. In fact, I seem to be a GED match to all of the DNA matched descendants of Charles Caffrey Martin who moved to Abbeville, SC--the dates are right, and there is mention of one unknown named child to the said Charles. My Absalom is said to have been born in 1772 in Abbeville, SC and married Janna Jane Henderson. I do also have some more questions pertaining to the Captain Thomas in question.
