Biography

William King Bean is the son of King William Bean and Elizabeth Rightnowar (Rightnour?) Bean. William married Clemenza Thompson. William bought land from the US Government at Rydertown, Illinois (Jefferson County) where he built a log cabin. It was in this log cabin that William and Clemenza had seven daughters and one son:

  • Cynthia Elizabeth Bean, born July 15, 1854, in Jefferson county, Illinois, died July 20, 1942, in Jefferson county, Illinois, married David Jackson Hester, in 1875
  • King William Bean, born September 20, 1856, died May 7, 1939, in Mount Vernon, Jefferson county, Illinois, marreed Phanata Anna Laney, daughter of Robert Marion and Phanata (Ford) Laney
  • Sarah N. "Sallie or Sally" Bean, born December 10, 1858, died December 14, 1875, married John Lennington
  • Connie Bean married Fred Keyes;
  • Canzada Alexandria Isabella Bean, born June 25, 1868, died March 3, 1950, in Taylorville, Christian county, Illinois, married George Washington Dees, in 1884
  • Mary Ann Bean, born January 7, 1861, died November 10, 1901, married 1) Ebenezer W. Masters, in 1878 and 2) Joseph Pinkney Davis in 1893
  • Martha Bean married 1) William Green and 2) C.H. Hollaway
  • Catherine Lucinda Bean married James R. Dennis

William King Bean and Clemenza are buried in Black Cemetery, in Wltonville, Jefferson County, Illinois. There is a photograph of his headstone on his Find A Grave memorial. [1]
