1776 Project
Second Lieutenant Ephraim Boynton Jr. served with 5th Massachusetts Bay Provincial Regiment (1775), Continental Army during the American Revolution.

Ephraim Boynton, Jr., was born in Rowley, Massachusetts, March 9, 1734/35, the son of Ephraim Boynton and Sarah Stewart. [1] [2] [3]

He married Abigail (Emery) Boynton on February 19, 1756 in Newbury, Massachusetts. [2] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8]

He lived in Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire, before 1778, then in Sullivan, New Hampshire, from 1796 until his death there. [2]

He served as a Lieutenant in the American Revolutionary War from Cheshire Co., NH. [2] [9]

He died at Sullivan, 9 Feb 1826, [2] and is buried in the Four Corners Cemetery. [10]

  1. David Emery Boynton, b. at Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, 24 Sep 1757.[2][11][12] N.B. He has a useful biographical sketch in History of the Town of Sullivan.
  2. Sarah Boynton, b. at Shrewsbury, 22 Jul 1759.[11][13]
  3. Irena Boynton, b. at Winchendon, Massachusetts, 13 Dec 1761.[2][14]
  4. Jonathan Boyton, reportedly born at Winchendon, 1 Aug 1766,[2] but whose birth is not recorded in Vital Records of Winchendon.
