Biography

Deborah was a Friend (Quaker)

Deborah Clark was born about 1690, the daughter of Jonathan Clark.

At some point between 1710 and 1715 she married Nathan Dicks in Pennsylvania. There is no definitive list of their children, but there were at least six.

In 1734 Nathan was granted land in Chester County.

Most of their children moved to North Carolina, but Nathan and Deborah stayed in Pennsylvania. At the time of his son's weddings in 1756, he was recorded as being alive in York County.

There are no further records of Deborah.

We are also researching the marriage of Clark-18895 and Nathan Dicks. We can find no sources to confirm that the Deborah Clark whom Nathan Dix married is the child of Thomas Clark and Martha Curtis as distinct from some other Deborah Clarke of which there are several. Can you help? Please some one have a marriage certificate. ( AS an aside Most of ancestry identifies her wrongly as the child of Deborah Gebney)

I think we are going to have to do some clean-up here. There is obviously some conflation of persons and/or miss-attachments occurring here.

This Deborah Clark is clearly the daughter of Jonathan Clark as Nathan Dix is roped in to probate his father-in-law's will. I think we should start from there.

Clark-2858 and Clark-31015 appear to represent the same person because: I'm struck by the same exact birth date although the place is off-- but in the same state. Are these the same person?

Clark-18895 and Clark-2858 appear to represent the same person because: Clark-18895 and Clark-2858 appear to represent the same person because they have the same name and spouse and birthday and they are both from Nantucket. Clark-2858 was abandoned and had no profile manager. She was married to the wrong Nathan Dicks.
