Tee, you are all set as a confirmed member of WikiTree now. I hope you discover as much about your family as I have about mine over the last several years.

PS I'm interested in the Dewald name also as it is my husband great-grandmother's maiden name. She was from New York; where was your grandmother from?
I noticed your note about being adopted by your step-father. If you plan to research both families, you might find some of the tips in the special page created to help Adoptees set up their profiles useful. It explains lot of options that you have regarding your names and ways to trace both families.
