Biography

"On becoming de jure Baron of Shipbrook, Ralph Vernon set aside his vow of celibacy and produced a son with Cecilia Crew, there was rumoured to be no marriage certificate. He left further issue by Maud Grosvenor. Ralph's son, also Ralph (born 1241), was reputed to have lived to such an extraordinary age that he earned the nickname 'The Old Liver'."[1]

“Shiprock” marriage place likely error for Vernon family seat of Shipbrook (Shipbroke etc). Please correct if you agree Darlene, or remove the claim if we can’t source it.

I've fixed the location issue. I took on PM when it was abandoned a few years ago. I have no knowledge of the family, so am going to remove myself.
Yeah a bunch of these Vernon profiles have been connected oddly in ways that probably create ophans over time when people de-ancestor after a disconnection.

Eventually if we can get them stitched back together authoritatively, I suspect they're lineal for a zillion living folks and will end up project protected etc.
