Biography

Hannah was born on the 23rd December 1827 the daughter of Joseph Denham (~1802 - 1857) and Susannah (Mott) Denham (~1803 - ). Hannah is mentioned in an old Log Book, written by Edward James Pickup in possession of Trevor Pickup.[1]

Hannah, daughter of Joseph Denham a tin man, and Susannah Denham, was baptised on the 17th of February 1828 in St Leonard's Church, Shoreditch, Hackney, England.[2]

1841 Census on the 6th June 1841 Hannah was living in Lower Garden Street, Westminster, Middlesex with her parents Joseph and Susan and her siblings William and Jane.[3]

Hannah married George James McCarty on the 25th December 1846 at St Martin in the Fields, Middlesex. His father was James McCarty a porter, and her father was Joseph Denham a tin plate worker. The witnesses were William Gardiner and D. Gardiner.[4]

The marriage was registered in the 4th quarter 1846 in St Martin, London.[5]

1891 Census on the 5th April 1891 Hannah a widow, was living at 3 Watson Place, Shoreditch, Middlesex with her children William, Edward, Alice and Frederick.[6]

Hannah died aged 74 on the 3rd February 1902 and her death was registered in the 1st quarter of that year in Shoreditch, Middlesex. She was buried at Chingford Mount, Essex. Hannah is mentioned in an old Log Book, written by Edward James Pickup in possession of Trevor Pickup.[7][8][9]
