Sir John Douglas, 2nd Earl Morton, 4th Lord Dalkeith was the son of James Douglas, 1st Earl of Morton, and Joan (Stewart) Douglas born before 1466.[1][2]
He and Elizabeth Graham were engaged on the 30th of June 1466.
He married Janet Crichton, daughter of Patrick Crichtonn, before 1493.[3][1] They had 2 son s& 2 daughters:
He was appointed Knight before 1474. He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Morton [S., 1458] on 22nd October 1492. He was Envoy to England in 1494.
He is listed as perishing during the Battle of Flodden Field, on 9th September 1513.[4]
