Biography
François Gendreau was born on 1 Mar 1809 in Saint-Thomas parish in Montmagny. He was the son of Pierre Gendreau and Marie Gamache.
François married Marguerite Aux on 6 May 1843 in Sainte-Luce parish in Frenchville, Aroostook, Maine. Their marriage record notes: les futurs époux vivant ensemble depuis deux ans, sous pretexte d'avoire été mariés par un Americain nommé Wilork. (the future spouses have been living together for two years, claiming to have been married by an American named Wilork).
