He is buried at St. John's Churchyard, Wakefield [4]
He bequeathed his estate to his wife Jane for the remainder of her life or until she married again. After her death or remarriage his estate was divided as follows:
the house and one third of 19 acres of land on section 127 Waimea South and farming utensils and furniture to his son James Henry Lines
one third of 19 acres of land on section 127 Waimea South to his son George Lines
one third of 19 acres of land on section 127 Waimea South to his son Charles Lines
the rest of his cattle and property to be divided equally between his surviving children.[5]
