Valentine Meriwether was a Virginia colonist.

Valentine was born about 1761. Valentine Meriwether ... He passed away about 1832.[1]

Meriwether, Valentine - Lieutenant - Army Thomas Young, aged 83, In Mason Co., Ky., on 13 May 1834 states that he knew Lt. Valentine Meriwether in the Illinois Regt in 1781. George Shepherd, aged 74, in Mason Co., Ky., on 9 Apr 1834 states the same as above. Priscilla Meriwether, aged 60, in Oldham Co., Ky on 21 Jul 1834 states that she married Valentine Meriwether in Fairfax Co., Va in 1790. She remembers her husband mentioning Col. Gibson, Gen. Clark, Maj. Thomas Massie, Capt. George Catlett, Capt.Thomas Youig, Col. Montgomery, Col. William Crawford, Capt. John Ashly, Col. Stevenson, Col. Thomas Marshall and many others. When Gen. Lafayette came to Louisville, Ky. , he sent for Valentine Meriwether to come to see him.

Sarah (Sally) Woolfolk, aged 68, in Oldham Co., Ky., on 21 Jul 1834 states that she was a bridesmaid at the marriage of Valentine Meriwether & Priscilla Meriwether in Fairfax Co., Va on 27 Dec 1790. Frances Pollard, aged 70, in Oldham Co., Ky., on 21 Jul 1834 states that she was also at the wedding. Dr, G. C. Ballard on 21 Jul 1834 in Oldham Co., Ky., states that he attended Valentine Meriwether at his death on 15 Aug 1832 at age 71.

Valentine Meriwether told Dr. Ballard that he was aged 18 when he first enlisted In 1777. Thomas H. Meriwether tells of assisting his father in making out his pension application. Jesse Alvis, aged 76, in Shelby Co., Ky., on 22 Jul 1834 states that he knew Lt. Valentine Meriwether in Va., in 1777 and was his neighbor in VA in 1790.

On 29 Apr 1834, Priscilla Meriwether for herself and for her children viz Thomas H. Meriwether, William C. Meriwether, David Meriwether, George Meriwether, Mary Priscilla Meriwether, Mildred A. Meriwether and Martha Meriwether come Into Oldham Co., Court.
