!Ladner Odyssey #1BA "...Hancock County Circuit Court at Bay St. Louis, Miss. indicates Louise Nicaise was married a second time after death of Louis "Pierre" Fayard, Jr. to a "Mallet" . . .and from this marriage there were 2 children, Lucien Mallet and John Mallet. The records at Annunciation Kiln, Miss have a record of these two children..." p. 25. pp. 46-7 "...Before I begin the descendants of this marriage, I would like to point out that in the Civil records that I have reviewed, this husband was known as Louis Fayard, Jr., but several Church records name him as Pierre Fayard . Certain information relating to this couple is contained in a civil suit dated April 2, 1849, HARCO Chancery Court to partite or divide the lands of the Estate of Louis Fayard, Sr., at Biloxi, Mississippi. I state the pertinent informatio, in part, as follows:....The suit further details the surviving children of Judique and Ursin, as well as their husbands or wives, as the case may be. It was interesting to note that the Petitioners Jacques, Jean and Alexis Fayard paid little attention to details regarding the death of their father, died about 1830, or to the families of their own brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews...." p. 47 "...The first clue that I had regarding a second marrige for Louise Nicaise came from the HANCO civil lawsuit of Porter v. Nixon. The testimony of witnesses stated that "Louise Nicaise, deceased, twice married", was a daughter of Jean Baptiste "Martial" Nicaise. We then knew, as set forth above that she was indeed first married to Louis Pierre Fayard, Jr., but who was she remarried to and did this second marriage produce children was unknown. The next clue was in HANCO Deed Book B pps. 113/114 wherein a parcel of land being sold by Nicolas Carron to Francois Ladner in February of 1850 was described, in part. "being a part of the land purchased by me from the heirs of Louise Mallet, deceased, and by her inherited from father Martial Nicaise also deceas ed..... Much more is written on pp 48-9 and the children are then named. !CHR: SLC BB 1 p. 352 !MCHGS Vol 11, #2, #1 Louise is not listed in the Nicaise Family History chart p. 36. We know Louise had passed away by 1849 because of legal records concerning the distribution of her estate. There is also an account of this in the book The Ladnier Oddyssy

Necaise-1 and Nicaise-21 appear to represent the same person because: same name, spouse and son. Surname should be Nicaise. Thanks.
