Biography

This Conrad Stamm and his family appear to have sailed to America in the “Alexander and Anne” arriving 5 September 1730. Conrad is the only member of the family to sign an Oath of Allegiance to England and an Oath of Abjuration.

Jennifer Clark of Huntsville, AL sent the following: “I have a copy of ‘Familien in Hochdorf und Assenheim’. It lists Joh. Konrad Stamm m. Maria Kath. (No surname given). Children b. in Assenheim: Joh. Balth. 21 Sep 1726 and Joh. Friedr., 27 Mar 1729.

Conrad Stam wrote his will in 1774. The Will was dated 9 12 1774 and proved 2 1 1779. The abstract of Conrad’s Will says: “Stam, Conrad. New Providence, Co. of Philadelphia. Yeoman. Dec 9, 1774. Jan 2 1779. R.152. Wife: Maria Catharina. Children: Frederick, Conrad, Balthar, Catharina, Magdalena, Salame. Exec: William Shepherd, Maria Catharina, Stam.” This entry from Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania Wills, 1682-1819 is posted on Ancestry.com.
