DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships.
Paternal line Y-chromosome DNA test-takers:
Before you mark a paternal relationship 'confirmed with DNA' when you're using yDNA you need to include a statement documenting the two matching yDNA tests used to confirm his relationship to his father, the number of markers the two test takers share, and the most recent common ancestor (MRCA) of the two. See this page for the format: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:DNA_Confirmation#Y-Chromosome_Confirmation
I've changed the relationship to his father to 'confident'. Please don't change it back to 'confirmed with DNA' until you have an appropriate DNA confirmation statement. Thanks!
Wing-51 and Wing-1794 appear to represent the same person because: These are the same man. I had just created this profile, but I knew it was familiar to me, so I didn't go any further. I performed several name searches and kept coming up with yours and others that had been made for other Ebenezer Wings, but different years further in the future than ours.
The 6 Jun 1789 death date came from a gravestone at Cataumet Cemetery in Pocasset (Sandwich, now Bourne). The stone is worn & faded, making it difficult to read.
This is the gravestone of Ebenezer Wing, son of Nathaniel Wing (II) who was born 1 Aug 1733 and was age 55 (not 95) when he died.
The last known record of Ebenezer was at a Sandwich Town Meeting of 17 MAY 1756 when his son, Nathaniel, was appointed Constable "in the place of his father Ebenezer Wing who was chose to said office at the Annual Meeting in March last."
It appears that by the time of the May meeting Ebenezer was either then already deceased, or at least incapacitated (and unable to perform the duties of Constable).
