Biography

James Badgett served with Civil Service, North Carolina during the American Revolution.

James Badgett was the son of Roger Badgett and Elizabeth Russil. He was born before 1755 in Granville County, North Carolina.

According to Surry County North Carolina Court Minutes, James Badgett served as a juror in the February and August terms for his local county court. This service qualifies him as a patriot in the American Revolutionary War. It is also notable that Hillsborough Militia lists do not survive. It is likely that James Badgett served in his local militia for the Hillsborough District.
