William Youngblood was born on 11 Oct 1790, in Edgefield County, South Carolina. [1] His occupation was farmer. [3]

According to Almon Sims’s book The Pariss Sims Family and Related Families 1765-1965, “William [Youngblood] … was a soldier with Andrew Jackson at the Battle of New Orleans in the war of 1812.” [5]

According to “Wayne County, Tennessee Vol.II,” “William Youngblood served in the War of 1812 as a Private in the company commanded by Captain David E. Twiggs of the 7th Regiment of Infantry of the U.S. Army from November 15, 1814 to early March, 1817. His discharge reads: "To All Whom it May Concern: Know ye that William Youngblood, a private of Captain David E. Twiggs Company, Seventh Regiment Infantry, who was enlisted this fifteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and fourteen to serve for the period of five years, is hereby honorably discharged from the Army of the United States, having procured Frederick McIntosh, a substitute. Said William Youngblod was born in the State of South Carolina, is twenty years of age; five foot seven and a half inches high; fair complexion; gray eyes, light hair and by occupation, when enlisted, a farmer. Given at Fort Montgomery in the Mississippi Territory this 5th day of March, 1817 by D. Riarley, L. Col. 7 Infantry, Co. G."

The document further confirms, “William enlisted in the West Tennessee Militia and was discharged on March 5, 1817, at Fort Montgomery, Mississippi Territory (Alabama)." (qtd. FindaGrave) [3]

He married Edith “Edy” Lucinda Ada Reed on 18 Dec 1817, in Rutherford County, Tennessee. [6] The couple had three children: Josiah (b. 1818), Lydia Ada (b. 1821), and John William (b. 1829). [2]

According to "Wayne County, Tennessee Vol. II," after William and Edith were married, “[t]hey remained in Jackson County until the 1820 census, briefly lived in Rutherford County, and then moved to Wayne County in 1828, when daughter Lydia was 7, possibly to be near his wife's family (also buried in Horton cemetery) or to claim bounty land.” (qtd. In FindaGrave) [3]

Youngblood-1226 and Youngblood-52 appear to represent the same person because: they share a similar birth year, the same parents and the same siblings.
