William was born about 1640. He passed away in 1716.

Research Notes

Having a challenge making sense of this family lineage. Father William born 1623, married in 1670, yet one listed son, Moses, born 1649. Other listed son, William is listed as born 1640 (previously listed as born 1670). Mother, Ann born 1625. If son, William, was born in 1670, the parents would have been age 47 and 45 years old. Quite old for the time. This also doesn't account for William's brother Moses birth listed as 1649, 11 years age difference. The Crooker genealogy record lists additional children of parents William and Ann, ranging in birth years 1639 to 1650. Thus a 1640 birth year for son William makes sense.

With William, the son (this profile) birth year resolved, it brings up a problem with the birth years of the children of this William. Crooker genealogy record shows the birth years of his children beginning in 1690 through 1705. This poses a similar problem to the parents age outlined in the prior paragraph. One possible way to resolve is there a skipped generation with the name William. Other possibilities are Sarah Hawxhurst was a second wife, or a very young first wife when William was much older.

Further research is needed to resolve the large gaps in birth years between these 3 generations of William Crooker.
