Biography
Gerrit Van Vechten was born 1640 at East Greenbush, Rensselaerwyck, New Netherland.[1] He married, first, Annatje about 1676, and second Grietje Douw on November 14, 1683. He died March 13, 1709.[2] His will was written March 8, 1700/01. It mentions wives Antie Janz and Grietie Volkertsen Dow, sons Johannes (eldest) and Volkert, and Pieter, the son of Jonas Dow.[3]
