LAMMETJE, b. Oct. 27, 1707; m. Dec. 8, 1727, Jan Van Noorstrand (John Van Nostrand), of Hempstead, son of Aaron and Aeltje (Van Steenwyck) Van Noor- strand, b. April 23, 1702, in Flatbush. [3]The children of Jan (or John) and Lammetje (Ryerson) Van Nostrand were:

  1. I. Aaron Van Nostrand, b. Jan. 7, 1729; d. Jan. 7, 1825; m. Dec. 18, 1763, Susannah Cornell, who d. Feb. n, 1793. Married, second, Mrs. Elizabeth Ryder, nee Brinckerhoff, b. April 15, 1726, d. Feb. 18, 1816. No children by the second wife. Children by the first wife:
    1. i. John Van Nostrand, b. Jan. 20, 1766; d. Mar. 7, 1816; m. Dec. 25, 1785, at Hempstead, Sarah Hewlett, b. Mar. 22, 1766; d. Sept. 22, 1828, dau. of Richard Hewlett. His name on the m. record, is John "Drawer."
  2. II. Cornelius Van Nostrand, b. Dec. 10, bap. Dec. 20, 1730, in Jamaica, L. I.; d. May 24, 1817, at York Mills, Ont., Can. Married, first, Jemima ; second, Jan. 31, 1760, Catherine Durlin; third, April 3, 1773, at Hempstead, Millicent Betts, b. Nov. 25, 1735, d. April 10, 1812. On April 1, 1766, he was in Hempstead and present at the induction of Rev. Leonard Cutting by the Rt. Rev. Samuel Seabury, first Bishop of the United States. Was an official of St. George's Church from 1765 to 1785. During the Revolution he joined the British. He obtained a land grant from the Crown and removed to Toronto, in 1800. Issue by his first wife:

  5. V. Abraham Van Nostrand, b. Aug. 23, 1736, bap. Sept. 5, 1736; unm.
  6. VI. Martin Van Nostrand, b. Feb. 19, 1738, bap. Mar. 19, 1738; in Jamaica, L. I.; d. Aug. 15, 1816; m. July 31, 1764, Sarah Losee, b. Aug. 17 (or 20), 1749, d. Mar. 8, 1833. He enlisted in a company of Provincials April 12, 1758. Children:

  9. IX. John Van Nostrand, b. July 2, 1744; d. Oct. 16, 1805; m., first, May 28, 1777, at Hempstead, Helena Lefferts, b. June 30, 1752, d. April 11, 1783; m., second, June 1, 1794, Sarah Bishop, b. Sept. 2, 1745, d. July 11, 1806. He was called John "Drawer." Children:
    1. i. Samuel Van Nostrand, b. April 5, 1778; d. Aug. 8, 1778.
    2. ii. John Van Nostrand, m. Elizabeth Birdsall.
    3. iii. Mary Van Nostrand, m. Walter Titus.
  10. X. George Van Nostrand, b. April, 1746; m. July 20, 1769, Hyletje Durland. Children:
    1. i. Joseph Van Nostrand, m. Elizabeth Mead.
    2. ii. Helena Van Nostrand, m. Abraham Dubois, a widower of Glenham.
  11. XII. Moeter Van Nostrand, was probably the youngest child of Jan and Lammetje (Ryerson) Van Nostrand. This child is mentioned in the will of Jan Van Nostrand, but we have no further trace.

Reyerse-18 and Ryerson-142 appear to represent the same person because: This is the oldest maternal ancestor in this chain in need of a merge. No tree conflicts. The alternate birth and marrieage are saved in the bio. Add aka Reyerse. Thanks!
