John Stewart is a member of Clan Stewart.

Sir John Stewart 1st Baronet Stewart of Athenree was born about 1757 in Gortigil, Castle Stewart, County Tyrone, Ireland. He was the son of the Reverand Hugh Stewart and his wife Sarah Hamilton.

He was Attorney General of Ieland 1799.

Sir John Stewart was made 1st Baronet Stewart of Athenree on 21st June 1803.

He became MP of Tyrone 1802-8 and 1812-25.

When driving a two horse carriage, while suffering from long term sickness, he was badly injured when his horses bolted and he died four days later.

He died on 22 June 1825

Sir John Stewart was married to Mary Archdall, 4 June 1789 at St. Ann's Church, Dublin.[1][2] Alt date, 1784.
