Biography

Matilda de Tillioll, daughter of Sir Peter de Tillioll, married Hugh de Lowther IV, son of Hugh III and Margaret de Whale Lowther, about 1338. On July 10 1338, his father made license for Nicholas del Clos and John Tannour of Carlisle, chaplains of the Neuton Reyne manor to grant the manor to Hugh his son and Matilda, daughter of Peter de Tillioll, and successive remainders to his sons John, Robert and Richard. ^[1] September 18 1364 an agreement was made to reconcile a difference between Hugh IV and Robert, his brother. ^[2]

Matilda was married in 1338 placing her birth prior to 1326.
