Máel Muire ingen Cináeda was a daughter of Kenneth MacAlpin, King of Dal Riáta. [1] [2]
Mael Muire' dynastic connection with four Uí Néill kings, married to Áed Findliath and later to Flan Sinna; as mother of Niall Glúndub; and as grandmother of Muirchertach, guaranteed Irish help for Scotland in dealing with the persistent harassment of Viking raiders.
She first married Aed Finliath (Aodh Fionnliath) of the Cenél nEógain, King of Ailech and High King of Ireland. Their son was Niall Glúndub
She next married Flann Sinna (Flann Sionnach) of Clan Cholmáin, King of Mide and High King of Ireland. [3]
