Biography

He was born on 30 October 1682 in Stamford.^[1] John III was the son of John II & Mary (Wickes) Waterbury

He married first Sarah Holmes, daughter of Stephen Holmes & Martha (Unknown) Holmes, on 16 Jan 1706/7 at Stamford, Fairfield, CT^[2] They had the following children:

1. John Waterbury, b. 1707, d. 1708
2. Sarah, b. 26 Jul 1709^[3]

He married second Hannah Cross, daughter of Nathaniel & Abigail (Holly) Cross, on 30 Nov 1710 at Stamford, Fairfield, CT - parents of John IV & Nathaniel.

They had the following children:

1. John Waterbury, b. 1711
2. Abigail Waterbury, b. 1714
3. Nathaniel Waterbury, b. 1717^[4]

He died on 28 May 1744.^[5]

On 5 February 1744/45, the Stamford probate court was presented with his inventory.^[6]
