Margaret was a widow of Anthony Schmit. Arrived in NYC with son Johan Daniel age 4 in 1710. Margaret is said to have been from Graafschap Welburg. She was #675 on the Hunter lists, was a widow and aged 27 therefore born 1683. She had a son Johan Daniel A Schmit aged 4 and therefore he was born 1706 in Germany.
Margaret received a deed for 200 acres of land in Pluckemin, Somerset County, New Jersey on Dec. 12, 1722. The earliest settlers of Pluckemin were German families including the Teeple's and Castner's.[1]
