Timothy Walker was born in Massachusetts.

Birth and Parents

Timothy, the eighth of nine children of Israel Walker and Abigail Caryl was born on 12 February 1753 at Hopkinton, Massachusetts.[1]

American Revolutionary War Service

Private Timothy Walker served with 9th Massachusetts Regiment (1777), Continental Army during the American Revolution.

Timothy served at the rank of Private during the American Revolutionary War in Capt. James Mellen's Company, Col. Jonathan Ward's Massachusetts Regiment in 1776 and the 9th regiment in 1780. He engaged in the Battle of Harlem Heights.[2] Timothy received a pension for his service.[3]

Marriage and Children

Timothy married Lois Gibbs (1756-1850), the daughter of Isaac and Lois (Townsend) Gibbs Jr. on 16 October 1777 at Framingham, Massachusetts.[4]They had sixteen children, born at Hopkinton:

Death and Burial

Timothy Walker died on 20 November 1834 in his 81st year at Hopkinton, Massachusetts, and is buried in Mount Auburn Cemetery at Hopkinton, Middlesex, Massachusetts.[25]

  • GEDCOM Upload: Paul Batt for creating WikiTree profile Walker-10570 through the import of Batt Family Tree.ged on Aug 21, 2013. Without biography until 2024. Sources were inaccurate.
  • This Timothy Walker may have been conflated with another Walker when brought to WikiTree from the GEDCOM Upload.
  • There is no evidence to suggest that THIS Timothy Walker was married to Hannah Gleason (1760-1847). She was married to a Timothy Walker (1758-1841), the son of William Walker (-1822) on 9 December 1783 at Billerica, Massachusetts. It is VERY likely that there was conflated information when this GEDCOM was uploaded in 2013.

PM: Timothy Walker's parents were Israel Walker (Walker-37530) and Abigail Caryl (Caryl-90). The above Timothy Walker was born on 12 Feb 1753 at Hopkinton, MA and died on 20 Nov 1834 at Hopkinton, MA. He married as his first wife Lois Gibbs (1756-1850). They were married on 16 Oct 1777 at Framingham, MA. Their children included Isaac Gibbs Walker (1786-1863), who married Hannah Webb (1790-1878) on 30 Sep 1809 at Scarborough, Massachusetts, which was annexed to Maine in 1820.
