Eleanor Constable was born about 1542 in Everingham, Yorkshire, England, daughter of Robert Constable (<1495–~1558) and Katherine Manners (1505–>1558).
Her siblings were:
She is not named in Foster's pedigree but there is an unnamed daughter shown as "......, the wife of William Waldby, of Waldby".[1]
According to information given in Notes and Queries, "Philip Waldby of Waldby, gentleman, the last of them, died in 1627, and his two daughters were his coheirs in 1631. .... There is no pedigree in any Heralds' Visitation, but a long one by Randle Holmes in Hurl. MS. 2118, which cannot be trusted in the earlier part. According to this William Waldby, Esq., was secretary to Henry VII."[2]
Waldby was in the parish of Elloughton. There are no parish registers before 1600. There is a probate 2 September 1567 of William Waldbie of Walbie, gent, buried "Ellington", will dated 26 June 1567.[3] This could possibly be Elinor's husband, as she would have been 25 at the time on her estimated birth date, but it is a rough guess and may have been earlier; Foster's pedigree shows the unnamed daughter before the other sisters, although Elinor is shown last in other derived sources such as Wikipedia.
