Unknown Maiden Name Debates

William Bullard's wife's LNAB was neither Grissell or Griswold. Mary was the WIDOW of Francis Grissell (sometimes spelled Griswold or Grizold). Therefore, her LNAB should be Unknown.^[1]

There is no evidence for a wife named Mary TRACEY.

The wives of William Bullard of Dedham were:

1. ____ ____. This unknown wife was the mother of his children.

Children, probably born in England: Isaac, Nathaniel, first taxed in 1654; Elizabeth, married Moses Collier; Mary, married John Farrington.

2. at Dedham, MA 4 Jan 1653 Mary (_____) Grissell, widow of Francis Grissell. She died in Charlestown 17 May 1685.

On 9 November 1655 "Jonas Palmer and Elizabeth Palmer of Rehoboth" sold to William Bullard, for a consideration part of which was to be paid to "Hannah Grissell daughter of Francis Grissell of Charlestown aforenamed deceased," land in Charlestown "by the last will and testament of the said Francis Grissell deceased given and bequeathed unto the said Elizabeth Palmer.^[2]
